River Shoreline Clean-Up
Saturday, 4/22/2017 9 a.m. - Noon
Contact Phone:
Age Requirements:
Ages 14 or Older
Activity Type:
Come spend Earth Day at a clean-up event along the banks of the Des Plaines River in Channahon. Dress for the weather and for getting dirty. Waterproof footwear is highly recommended.

Knee high rubber boots or waders are ideal.

Clean-up instructions and safety equipment will be provided on the day of the event.

Due to the proximity to water and the unpredictable nature of the debris we will be collecting, this clean-up is limited to individuals 14 years of age and older.

This program is being held in connection with the “Water|Ways” traveling exhibit scheduled for January 28-March 11 at Four Rivers. Free and open to the public, “Water|Ways” is made possible by the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum on Main Street Program and Illinois Humanities.
Event Requirements:
Registration is required by calling 815.722.9470 by Wednesday, April 19.

The clean-up areas are off-trail and require walking through rough, uneven terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should mention their request when registering, or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
