Event details
Kick off spring break with outdoor family fun! Hike with a naturalist through the trees at Messenger Woods. At designated stops along the way we’ll pause to try our hand at fun early-spring activities. We might investigate the creek, play animal Simon says, discover the age of a tree, listen to bird calls or play tug of war. We’ll take advantage of this amazing season.

This program is geared toward 6- to 10-year-olds, but the entire family is welcome. Please dress for any type of weather, including reliable hiking shoes. Meet at Hawthorne Grove Shelter.
The outdoor hike will take place on natural surfaces across uneven terrain. Be prepared to walk up to 1.5 miles. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
