Welcome all homeschool families! Join other middle and high school-aged homeschoolers to experience a naturalist-led field trip at McKinley Woods — Kerry Sheridan Grove. Explore the diversity of life in the murky depths of the DuPage River. Become scientists and use nets to collect and microscopes to observe the critters before releasing them back into their habitat. Students will meet river dwellers, discover their unique characteristics and learn how they help us determine the health of the river.

Please note this is not a drop-off program; adults or chaperones do not need to register but must be present for the program.
This is an inclusive field trip, welcoming individuals of all abilities. Four Rivers Environmental Education Center is an accessible facility. Hikes will be up to 1 mile over paved and natural surface terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should mention their request when registering or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
