Event details
This ongoing program runs from Thursday, June 5, to Sunday, July 6. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays to Sundays.
This personal exhibition presents the work of local photographer and watercolor artist Robert Hafey. From Hafey: “Growing up as a free-range child, I had the opportunity to explore the natural world all around me. That exposure led to a lifelong interest in, and admiration of, the natural world. I also have some background in creative arts, although until 2024 I had not drawn or painted for over 40 years. So at the start of 2024 I set a personal goal to build a portfolio and become an artist. When deciding what to paint, I was influenced by the hundreds of bird photographs I had taken while hiking the Will County Forest Preserve trails. Birds are loved by all. They have always and will continue to spark our interest because of their beauty and ability to fly. That is why, for me, they are the perfect subject.”
