Event details

Ever driven by forest preserve land and wondered why it’s smoking? It’s not a wildfire; it’s a prescribed burn. Fire has shaped our ecosystems throughout history and is an important tool necessary for the health of natural spaces. Join our ecology coordinator for a presentation on why, when and how the Forest Preserve District of Will County uses fire as a tool for conserving and restoring the habitats entrusted to us. Bring your questions and come ready to learn about the power and impact of fire in nature.
