Join a naturalist for the rare opportunity to experience Kankakee Sands at night. As your sharp vision fades away with the sun, your other senses will compensate. Become immersed in the songs of insects and sounds of grasses swishing in the breeze. Discover the fragrance of the air and soil. As we hike, we’ll have a few short activities and learn what makes this preserve so unique.

Meet at the Kankakee Sands Shelter.
The hike will be approximately 2.5 miles over limestone screenings. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should mention their request when registering or submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
